Priestor, v ktorom sa na ovčom salaši dojili ovce. Tvorila ho upravená, niekedy i drevom vydláždená plocha tesne pri košiari. Obyčajne bola zakrytá strieškou. Strunga sa pred každým dojením vyčistila od blata a hnoja. Aby sa ovce pri dojení nešmýkali, vykopali na nej dojčiari jamky, do ktorých postavili ovcu prednými nohami. Na sedenie pri dojení používali drevené klátiky alebo jednoduché stolčeky. Ovce do strungy vchádzali z časti košiara nazývanej honelnica. Tú od ostatného košiara oddeľoval samostatný dielec s otvormi, nazývaný strungár alebo strunga;
v období feudalizmu tak označovali celý salaš. Slovo strunga má východorománsky pôvod. Patrí k jazykovým prejavom pastierskej kultúry v celých Karpatoch a niektorých oblastí Balkánu.
