nápoj zo zakľaganého ovčieho mlieka. Výroba žinčice bola rozšírená na salašoch v celej oblasti slovenských Karpát. Žinčica vzniká pri výrobe syra. Srvátka, ktorá zostane v kotle po vybratí syra sa ohrieva nad vatrou. Keď začne bublať, zozbiera sa vrchná najhustejšia vrstva srvátky tzv. urda, z ktorej sa miešaním a prelievaním tvorí jemná žinčica. Miešaním čerstvej a staršej sa získava kyslá žinčica. Na salašoch pastieri oviec pili tento nápoj z drevených črpákov každodenne. Nápoj sa užíval ako liek pri pľúcnych a žalúdočných chorobách. Žinčica je považovaná za tradičný slovenský produkt z ovčieho mlieka.
