drevená nádoba okrúhleho alebo oválneho tvaru. Vahan bol široký cca 30–40 cm a na okrajoch mal prečnievajúce okraje. Vyrábal sa z klátu topoľového alebo osikového dreva rozštiepeného na polovice. Sekerou sa vysekalo vnútro nádoby, ktoré sa oblou motyčkou vydlabalo a vyhladilo. Vonkajšej strany sa opracovali obojručným nožom. Zhotovovali sa aj spojené dvojité vahany. Vahany v tradičnom hospodárstve slúžili na prenášanie múky, formovanie chlebového cesta pred pečením a ako nádoba na krmivo pre hydinu.
