otcova, matkina sestra a jej muž. Paralelné príbuzenské termíny k názvom strýko, stryná, ujo, ujčiná a i. Termín tetoš a varianty s postupným zjednodušovaním príbuzenskej terminológie ustupujú. Iný vývoj má termín teta, ktorý je čoraz viac rozšírený, prechádza aj na afinitné príbuzné stryná, ujčiná a má tendenciu zahrnúť všetky generácie starších ženských príbuzných. Postupne sa začal rozširovať pri oslovení starších cudzích žien v mestách, kde nahradil predvojnové názvy pani, slečna.
