vrece z kože na uskladnenie bryndze. Kozia alebo ovčia koža sa používala obrátená vlnou dovnútra, hermeticky uzavretá zašitím všetkých otvorov (predné, zadné nohy) a stiahnutá v oblasti hrdla. Pôvod slova temlov sa odvodzuje z maďarského slova tömlő, čo znamená vrece. Karpatskí pastieri, najmä v Rumunsku a Bulharsku, týmto spôsobom využívali temlov na konzervovanie a uskladňovanie bryndze ešte v polovici 20. storočia. V historických dokumentoch a záznamoch sa spomína temlov od neskorého stredoveku. Na Slovensku bol temlov ako jednotka hmotnosti syra/tvarohu známy už v 13. storočí (1 temlov = 36,4–58,8 kg). Bryndza naložená v temlovoch sa odvádzala ako poddanská dávka feudálnej vrchnosti. Uchovávanie bryndze v kožených temlovoch zaniklo v 19. storočí, keď sa rozmáhal predaj bryndze a nehygienické temlovy nahradili hygienickejšie a praktickejšie drevené gelety.
