suché zvyšky stebiel vymlátených obilnín. Slamu možno rozdeliť na základe biologického pôvodu na pšeničnú, jačmennú, ražnú a pod., alebo podľa jej využitia na kŕmnu (z jarných druhov obilia) a stelivovú (z ozimných druhov obilia). Kŕmna slama sa skladovala v stodole alebo inom zastrešenom priestore. Slama určená na podstielanie bývala vonku v stohu. V tradičnom roľníckom hospodárstve mala slama veľa ďalších využití – pokrývali sa ňou strechy, vyrábali povriesla, slamenice, slamníky a pod.
