zimovisko pre ovce vybudované na horských lúkach. Bola to masívna okrúhla ohrada pre ovce postavená z dreva, ktorej dovnútra naklonený vrch poskytoval ovciam aj čiastočné prístrešie proti dažďu a snehu. Ovce boli v čase zimovania kŕmené senom z okolitých lúk, vetvami z ihličnatých stromov a letninou. V suchom počasí ich vyháňali do lesa obhrýzať čečinu. Vo východnej časti Nízkych Tatier sa mraznice stavali až do začiatku 20. storočia. Tento spôsob zimovania oviec bol rozšírený aj v ukrajinských a rumunských Karpatoch, odkiaľ sa preniesol na Slovensko v rámci valaskej kolonizácie.
